Cleanings
While baby teeth are not meant to last forever, they still play a major role in how your child’s adult teeth will emerge. Your child may need a gentle cleaning, which includes polishing teeth and removing any plaque, tartar, and stains. Regular visits should become a very positive experience that your child looks forward to every 6 months. Along with an effective home oral hygiene routine, this winning combination will help ensure your child will have a healthy smile for life!

Prevention
Preventive dental care helps maintain good oral health. It combines regular dental check-ups along with developing good habits like brushing and flossing. Taking care of your teeth starts early in childhood and extends throughout the course of your life.

Fillings
Dental fillings are a treatment option to help restore the function and appearance of a tooth that is damaged or decayed. Most commonly used to treat a cavity, having a tooth “filled” is a very common procedure and can be completed in one appointment at our office.
-
Stainless Steel Crowns
If the damage or decay in a tooth is extensive, a simple filling may not be sufficient. In such cases, a stainless steel crown is often recommended to protect the tooth and ensure a higher long-term success rate.
-
Silver Diamine Fluoride
For patients who are too young or unable to fully cooperate during treatment, a Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) application can serve as an alternative option to help prevent further decay and reduce sensitivity.
*Please note that SDF permanently darkens the areas of the tooth affected by cavities, resulting in a black stain where the decay is present.
-
Extraction
Tooth extraction is the complete removal of a tooth from the mouth. Dental extractions are necessary if a primary tooth is preventing the normal eruption of a permanent tooth, or if a tooth has sustained extensive tooth decay or trauma that cannot be repaired, or if the tooth is impacted. Local anesthesia is used to ensure your child is as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.

Space Maintainers
We provide space maintainers to help prevent the drifting of baby teeth, which can lead to future impaction or misalignment of the permanent teeth.
* Not every patient is a candidate for a space maintainer. Factors such as age, dental development, and oral hygiene may determine whether your child qualifies for this treatment.
